A place above the rest
Kahawai Point
Nothing stirs the soul like the view of a pristine coastal river. The tide ebbs and flows. The mind drifts away to the promise of new horizons. We think you’ll agree it is a vision fully realised, a place truly above the rest, an inspired coastal community being created by KPDL at Kahawai Point, Glenbrook. Located approximately an hour’s drive south of Auckland’s CBD, Kahawai Point is both a connected place and a place to unwind.
A Vision Realised
A Vision Realised
Past, present, future – perfect harmony
Motivated by a treasured past and unbounded natural beauty, Kahawai Point, promises the very best in coastal riverside residential living.
This place is inspired by one man’s vision – Ngati Te Ata’s, Tahuna Minhinnick. He saw Kahawai Point as a very special place. One where he could create an engaged community.
A place that respects both the site’s past, the existing community, the links to the local iwi and incorporates the aspirations of Ngati Te Ata and the Te Aranga design principles.
Sadly, Tahuna did not live to see his vision realised. The challenge, dedication, perseverance of many to progress his vision has not faltered. That is to create more than a coastal village, it is to create a sustainable community – a legacy, a place above the rest.
A Coastal Haven

Private spaces, personal destinations
Kahawai Point is southern Auckland’s jewel in the crown. Being built by some of Auckland’s finest builders, it is located at the junction of the stunning Taihiki and Waiuku Rivers. It offers a very safe coastal rural haven away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Auckland.
Located 15 minutes drive from Waiuku and 20 minutes from Pukekohe, KPDL’s Masterplan emphasises space as a key to preserving the stunning natural scenery.
With 65ha of classic coastal landscape, the sheltered coves of the beautiful Taihiki River will be enjoyed through a 10km coastal walk. The walk follows the foreshore meandering through stands of 100-year-old Pohutukawa trees and destination places like the Pohutukawa Point neighbourhood park. This prominent park sits on a small headland and is the site for Kahawai Point’s stunning Hei Matau artwork.
KPDL is committed to conserving land zones of beautiful coastal land for future generations. Dedicated mature vegetated land fingers jut out into the Taihiki River to support healthy waters flowing into local tributaries and ultimately Manukau Harbour.
The Kahawai Point Masterplan is designed to sensitively embrace around 800 coastal homes across a number of residential development stages. To date, KPDL has sold all available land in Stage 1-4 other than a few homesites still for sale in Stage 4.
Kahawai Point has coastal land for sale ranging in size from 300sqm to 840sqm allowing for a range of one and two storey homes. Currently, multiple builders are active at Kahawai Point including – GJ Gardner Homes, Jennian Homes, Stonewood Homes, Navigation Homes, Stroud Homes and Signature Homes.
Today, Kahawai Point has a thriving community of around 300 people enjoying this magnificent coastal lifestyle, with a projected population in the next ten years of approximately 2,400 people.
The growth over the last couple of years has been phenomenal as locals and Aucklanders alike seek a ‘sea change’ to a new connected place within a flourishing like-minded community.
